Compare and contrast essay (Jamie’s
topic).
Fast food industry in the United
States is very competitive. McDonald and Burger King are two illustrations for
the American’s fast food. People are still arguing about which one is better.
McDonald and Burger King have some similar points but not entirely.
They
serve “fast” burgers and fries. Not only McDonald but also Burger King has
their restaurants all over the United States. Both of their services are really
good, their policy is serving fast and good tasted food, especially burgers. Most
of McDonald’s restaurants are really nice and clean, so are Burger King’s.
Beside these familiar points,
McDonald’s burgers and Burger King’s burgers are slightly different. Most of
Burger King’s foods are more expensive than McDonald’s foods, because the qualities
of Burger King’s burgers are better than McDonald’s. The word “qualities” here
means the patties are thicker and tastier. But McDonald’s restaurants have
playgrounds for kids.
McDonald and Burger King both
have their specialties. Each one has their own advantages and disadvantages.
But they both serve tasty burgers and fries. That’s the reason why the fast
food industry in America is very willing to oppose. Beside Burger King,
McDonald still has other competitors such as: Wendy’s, Five Guys and many more.

How
can we remember things!
Information is stored in our
brain every day. But, most people don’t know how we can remember all the
information that they had received. Based on eHow contributor-Sophie Johnson’s
article “How do people remember things”, remembering
our information is now informed.
Before saving data into our head,
the data has to be noticed. Ones usually notice their objects by seeing,
hearing or feeling. For example, if you listen to your teacher, you will figure it out what was she or he talking about by the end of
the lecture. This process
called short- term memory. The data will be transferred to long-term memory if
your brain, especially you think the data is needed or important. Sophie
presented that “Neural
connections get stronger as the information comes in and is linked to emotions.
Neurons are nerve cells and a pattern of connections between them forms a
memory” (Johnson,
2009). “Memory forth” will recollect all the memories whenever you need to use
them, like during your physic exams.
Recognition is one of the ways
that your data will be recalled. Recognition is re-mentioning your information
by visualizing. For instance, you will recognize some of your friends from long
time ago if you meet them again. Another technique to remember things is relearning, a way to recapture what you have learned by reading, listening or learning them a
second time. Recognition and relearning are two common methods to remember
stuff. Beside these two, he or she will remember their objects by using a
method named recall. Your information will be recalled, using some small
details to recapture what you have kept in mind, whenever you find any clues
that involve with the information that you have stored.
Remembering information is what people
do every day. To help ourselves remember things better, we should know how the
information is kept in our brain and find more effective ways to improve our
memories.
