Ways to Learn New Language (Final draft)
To learn a new language is a great thing. People admit that knowing more than one language can give them more opportunities to find a better job. Learning a new language may be troubled for some people. In order to make this challenging process easier, one should focus on three major fields: mastering grammars and writing skills, practicing listening and speaking proficiencies and also constantly expanding his vocabulary bank.
To master grammar and writing skills, people should try to learn verb tenses and understand sentences’ structures so they know how the sentences are made and organized. They also need to practice writing skills after learning grammar so they won’t forget what they have learnt, such as writing a few sentences in different tenses. Reading books and stories is also a good behavior for people who want to improve their grammar and writing skills. While reading, they can also learn new writing styles and verb tenses from the author.
With the purpose of learning a new language, practicing listening and speaking skills are necessary too. People usually listen to music, watch movies, news and cartoons in the languages that they want to learn so that they can get used to native pronunciations and tongues. But listening alone is not good enough speaking also helps to enhance this learning process. Most linguistic professors encourage people to speak up and ask questions in class for this purpose. People who usually communicate are better learners because they are not afraid of making mistakes and learn more things when they make mistakes. While talking, one will have chances to reinforce the listening skills as well. As a result, active speakers are better learners.
Besides those skills, vocabularies are also critical to discover a new language. To enrich the vocabulary bank, some people try to learn word root, prefixes and suffixes and the meanings of those. The most traditional way of learning new vocabulary until now is flash cards. Besides, clustering notes are good for a big amount of words. They also link words to any events or places that were familiar to them in order to make it easier to remember. Anyone whose vocabulary storage is gigantic has more chances to master their new language.
In conclusion, many people have succeeded in learning a new language by following this strategy: mastering grammar and writing skills, constantly practicing listening and speaking proficiencies and expanding their vocabulary bank. Everyone has their own way to be skillful in learning a new language. Those techniques work perfectly for me. So, how about you?
